The short version. PicLite edits your photos entirely on your device. We don’t run servers that receive your images, we don’t require an account, and we don’t sell your data. Free users see ads served by Google AdMob, which uses a mobile advertising identifier. That’s the extent of the data involved.
This Privacy Policy explains how Axain Studios (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information in connection with the PicLite mobile application (the “App”) on iOS and Android. By using the App you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
PicLite is designed to collect as little as possible.
Photos and images you select. When you choose photos from your library or capture one with the camera, the App reads those images to compress, resize, crop, convert, enhance, or remove metadata from them. This processing happens locally on your device. Your photos are not uploaded to us or to any third party by the App.
Files the App creates. Optimized results and a local “History” of your recent results are stored on your device only. You can delete any item (swipe to delete) or clear it via your device settings; deleting the App removes them.
Advertising data (free version). Ads are provided by Google AdMob. To serve ads and measure them, the ads SDK may access your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS / Advertising ID on Android), coarse device and network information, IP address, and ad-interaction events. See “Advertising” below.
Purchase status. If you buy PicLite Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple or Google. We do not receive your payment card details. The App stores only a local flag indicating whether Pro is active.
Support communications. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and use it only to respond.
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, address, or phone number.
2. How we use information
To provide the App’s features (compress, resize, crop, convert, enhance, delete EXIF, batch).
To save and display your local History and Favorites.
To display and measure advertising in the free version.
To process and restore in-app purchases.
To respond to support requests and fix problems.
3. On-device processing
All image editing in PicLite runs on your device using the operating system’s image APIs. We have no backend that stores or analyzes your photos. Removing metadata (the “Delete EXIF” tool) is performed locally by re-encoding the image.
4. Permissions we request
Photos / Media. To let you pick images to optimize and to save results back to your library. On iOS this uses the system photo picker and add-only save permission where possible.
Camera (optional). Only if you choose “Take Photo,” so you can capture an image to optimize.
You can change these permissions at any time in your device settings.
iOS: control ad tracking under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and reset your advertising identifier.
Android: control or reset your Advertising ID under Settings → Google → Ads.
Where required (e.g., the EU/UK), we present a consent choice for personalized ads. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Upgrading to PicLite Pro removes ads entirely.
6. In-app purchases
“PicLite Pro” is a one-time purchase offered through the Apple App Store (StoreKit) or Google Play Billing. Those platforms handle the transaction and your payment information under their own privacy policies. We do not collect or store your payment details.
7. Data retention
Images and results you create stay on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. Advertising data is retained by Google according to its policies. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to assist you.
8. Data security
Because processing is local, your images generally never leave your device through PicLite. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we design the App to minimize the data at risk.
9. Children’s privacy
PicLite is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will address it.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain data, and to object to certain processing. Because we hold almost no personal data about you, most requests concern data held by Google (advertising) or Apple/Google (purchases) — we’ll help direct you. To make a request, email us.
11. International users
The App can be used worldwide. Third-party providers such as Google and Apple may process data in countries other than yours, subject to their safeguards.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the App or on this page.
